OFFICIAL RULES — VERIFACT APP WORLD CUP SWEEPSTAKES
**NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.**
1. Sponsor and Participating Locations
This Sweepstakes (the "Sweepstakes") is sponsored by **LYG INC**, located at **1910 N Water St, Apt 302, Milwaukee, WI 53202** ("Sponsor"). The Sweepstakes is offered at one or more participating physical venues such as coffee shops, bars, or stores (each a "Participating Location"). Each Participating Location runs its own independent drawing with its own 48-team pool, its own entry window, and its own prize(s). The Sponsor is responsible for the overall administration of the Sweepstakes. The prize at a given Participating Location may be supplied by the Sponsor or by that Participating Location, as identified on the entry page for that Location.
The Participating Location for a given drawing is identified to entrants on the entry page for that Location (reachable by scanning the QR code at the venue or by visiting **https://thelyg.com/sweepstake/<location>**).
2. No Affiliation with FIFA or the World Cup
This Sweepstakes is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), the FIFA World Cup™, any participating national team, any broadcaster, or any other official body or partner associated with the tournament. All trademarks, team names, and tournament names are the property of their respective owners and are used here for descriptive identification only.
3. Eligibility
The Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the State of Wisconsin who are 18 years of age or older as of the date of entry. Employees, officers, and directors of the Sponsor, and their immediate family members and members of their households, are not eligible to enter or win. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
4. Sweepstakes Period
Each Participating Location runs its own entry window. Entries open and close at **the same instant for every Participating Location** in this Sweepstakes: entries close at **8:00 PM Central Time on June 10, 2026** (the day before the tournament's first match). Entries received outside that window will not be eligible. Each Location is capped at forty-eight (48) total verified entries on a first-come, first-served basis; once a Location has reached 48 verified entries, additional entries at that Location will be refused even if the entry window is still open. The Sponsor's computer is the official timekeeping device for the Sweepstakes.
5. How to Enter
Entry is **on-premises only**. To enter at a Participating Location, an eligible person must, **while physically present at that Location during its Sweepstakes Period**, submit an entry through the **Verifact App** providing:
- A name (a nickname or display name is acceptable); - A valid mobile phone number; and - A valid email address.
To confirm on-premises entry, the entrant must satisfy **either one** of the following at the moment of submission:
1. **Scan the QR code displayed at the Location.** The link encoded in the QR is single-session and expires shortly after it is scanned; an entrant who does not complete the form before the link expires must scan again. **Or** 2. **Share the device's current location with the Verifact App.** The Sponsor uses the device's coordinates, in real time, only to confirm that the entrant is inside the Participating Location's geofence at the moment of submission.
Entries that satisfy neither (a QR scan that has expired or is invalid, AND no shared location, OR shared location coordinates outside the geofence) will be rejected. The QR scan token and any submitted location coordinates are not retained after the entry is processed.
At signup, the entrant will be asked to verify their mobile phone number by entering a one-time code sent by text message. By providing a phone number, the entrant consents to receive text messages from the Sponsor about their entry, including a verification code, an entry confirmation, a notice of when and where the team-assignment ceremony for their Location will occur, the team they are assigned at that ceremony, and, if they win, a winner notification. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of texts or HELP for help. Opting out of texts may prevent the Sponsor from sending text-based notices, in which case the Sponsor may contact the entrant by email instead.
**Limit: one (1) entry per person, per Participating Location.** A given person may submit a separate entry at each Participating Location, but may only submit one entry at any single Location. Entry is completely free. No purchase, payment, subscription, in-app currency, or other consideration is required or accepted to enter. Any attempt to require or accept payment for entry voids the entry.
The contact information collected will be used only to verify the entrant's phone number, administer the Sweepstakes, and notify the winner. The Sponsor does not send marketing or promotional messages and will not contact entrants to request payment or additional information. See the Verifact App Privacy Policy at **https://thelyg.com/sweepstake-policy** for details.
6. Team Assignment
Each Participating Location has a fixed pool of forty-eight (48) national teams — one for every nation competing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup™ — grouped into the twelve (12) tournament groups (Groups A–L, four teams per group). The mapping of teams to groups is fixed before entries open and is the same at every Participating Location.
Team assignment is **deferred** to a public, automated random draw (the "Team Assignment Ceremony") that takes place for each Participating Location at the moment that Location's entry window closes — namely, **8:00 PM Central Time on June 10, 2026**. Entries are *not* assigned a team at signup; they are paired with a team only at the Team Assignment Ceremony.
At the Team Assignment Ceremony, the Sponsor's system will, in a single automated, atomic operation, pair each verified entry at that Location with one (1) randomly selected team from that Location's pool of 48 teams, such that no team is assigned to more than one entrant and no entrant is assigned more than one team. Pairing order and selection are determined by the cryptographically seeded random number generator on the Sponsor's server; the result is recorded immediately and cannot be replayed, redone, or modified after the fact. Team assignments cannot be selected, requested, traded, or changed by entrants, and are independent across Participating Locations.
If a Participating Location has fewer than 48 verified entries when its entry window closes, the unfilled team slots at that Location remain empty for the duration of the tournament; those slots are not eligible to win a prize. The animated reveal of each entrant–team pair is published on that Location's entry page beginning at the Team Assignment Ceremony.
7. How the Winners Are Determined
A separate set of winners is determined for each Participating Location, based on the prize tiers offered at that Location and the final standings of the tournament:
- **Prize #1** is awarded to the entrant at that Location assigned to the team that **wins the final** (the tournament champion). - **Prize #2**, if offered, is awarded to the entrant at that Location assigned to the team that **loses the final** (the tournament runner-up). - **Prize #3**, if offered, is awarded to the entrant at that Location assigned to the team that **wins the third-place match**. - **Prize #4**, if offered, is awarded to the entrant at that Location assigned to the team that **loses the third-place match**.
A Participating Location may offer between one (1) and four (4) prizes; the tournament determines four (4) finishing positions and accordingly no more than four (4) prize tiers are offered. **No entrant may win more than one prize at the same Participating Location.**
**Wildcard / unassigned teams.** If a finishing-position team for a given prize tier was not assigned to any entrant at that Location (a "wildcard" team), that prize is instead awarded by random drawing from among the valid entries at that Location that have not already been awarded a prize in that drawing. The drawing for wildcard prizes is performed in tier order (#1 first, then #2, then #3, then #4). If no eligible entries remain when a wildcard prize is reached, that prize is forfeited and not awarded.
All determinations regarding entries, assignments, and winner selection are final and binding.
8. Prizes
Each Participating Location offers **between one (1) and four (4) prizes**, corresponding to the four finishing positions the tournament determines (champion, runner-up, third-place match winner, third-place match loser). The specific prize(s) for a given Location, the prize tier (#1–#4), the Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of each prize, and the party providing each prize (the "Prize Provider" — either the Sponsor or the Participating Location itself) are disclosed on that Location's entry page. One (1) winner per prize tier per Participating Location will receive that tier's prize, subject to the wildcard and forfeiture rules in Section 7. Prizes are not transferable and no substitution will be made except by the Sponsor, who reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if an advertised prize becomes unavailable. Where a Participating Location is the Prize Provider, fulfillment of that prize is the responsibility of that Participating Location, and the Sponsor may share with that Participating Location only the limited contact information necessary for the winner to claim and receive the prize.
9. Odds of Winning
The odds of any individual entry being assigned the winning team depend on the number of valid entries received and the random assignment of teams. For entries selected by random draw in the wildcard scenario, odds depend on the total number of valid entries received.
10. Winner Notification and Claim
The winner will be notified using the contact information provided with their entry (by text message, telephone call, and/or email) within **seven (7)** days after the tournament concludes. The Sponsor may not request or accept any payment from the winner before the winner receives this notice. If a winner cannot be contacted within **fourteen (14)** days of the first notification attempt, fails to respond, or is found to be ineligible, the Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify that entry and select an alternate winner at random from among the remaining valid entries.
The winner may be required to provide identification and to complete and return any documents reasonably required by the Sponsor (including tax forms) before the prize is awarded.
11. Taxes
Any taxes that may apply to a prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. The winner remains responsible for reporting and paying any taxes that may be due on the prize as required by law. Where the total Approximate Retail Value of prizes received by a winner from the Sponsor in a calendar year is $600 or more, the Sponsor may issue an IRS Form 1099-MISC. Where a Participating Location is the Prize Provider, any tax-reporting obligations relating to that prize are the responsibility of that Participating Location and/or the winner, as applicable.
12. Privacy
Information collected from entrants is used by the Sponsor solely to verify the entrant's phone number, administer this Sweepstakes, and notify the winner. The Sponsor does not sell entrant information and does not send marketing messages. For full details, see the Verifact App Privacy Policy at **https://thelyg.com/sweepstake-policy**.
13. General Conditions
By entering, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, violates these rules, or acts in a disruptive or unfair manner. The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Sweepstakes if fraud, technical failure, or any other factor beyond the Sponsor's reasonable control impairs the integrity of the Sweepstakes.
14. Release of Liability
By entering, each entrant releases and holds harmless the Sponsor and its respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all liability for any injury, loss, or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with participation in this Sweepstakes or acceptance, use, or misuse of the prize.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
This Sweepstakes and these Official Rules are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to this Sweepstakes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in **Milwaukee** County, Wisconsin.
16. Winner List
To request the name of the winner, send a request to **support@thelyg.com** after **August 1, 2026**.
